Ton Steine Scherben is a German rock band from West Berlin, formed in 1970. Known for their politically charged lyrics and association with the squatter movement, they were a pioneering force in German-language rock music. After disbanding in 1985 and the death of singer Rio Reiser in 1996, the band has returned to the stage in a new line-up around its surviving founding members.
