Vanitas (UK)

Vanitas are a symphonic progressive metal band from Birmingham, formed in 2022. They call their sound "cinematic djent": progressive metal and djent with orchestral arrangements, inspired by video-game composers such as Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy) and Motoi Sakuraba (Dark Souls) and by Protest the Hero, Dream Theater and Devin Townsend. The EP "Journey to the Sun" came out in August 2025 and the single "Nobody" in 2026; that year the band played Bloodstock Open Air.
