Van Tastik

Van Tastik is an American one-man band. He grew up surrounded by music in a musical family: his mother worked at a theatre in the greater D.C. area, his father sang to him, and his grandmother played piano and sang in an old-fashioned, jazz- and blues-influenced style. His music draws on American folk traditions such as work songs, field hollers, spirituals and gospel, alongside influences from Georgian and Bulgarian vocal traditions and Native American powwow singing.
