Varang Nord

Varang Nord have been playing a martial strain of folk and Viking metal since forming in Latvia in 2014: harsh riffing, choral vocals and traditional instrumentation that lend the songs a ritual weight. The debut "Fire of the North" (2015) was followed by "Хозяин леса" (2016) and "Зов битвы" (2017), before "Pārķiuņa Uomurs" (2021) and "Latgola" (2024) turned the band more firmly toward Latvia's eastern Latgale region, drawing on its language and folklore in both titles and lyrics. More recent releases include the EP "Veļi" and the albums "Mygla" and "Ašņa Ausma".
