Wacken Firefighters

Wacken Firefighters is the name under which the music corps (Musikzug) of the volunteer fire department of Wacken, Germany performs. Its history traces back to 1900, when the Musikzug Wacken was founded; it was rebuilt in 1965 after nearly dissolving following World War II. Since 2000 the band has opened the Wacken Open Air festival each year with a concert under the motto "Metal meets Brass."
