Effenaar in central Eindhoven was founded in 1971 as a squatted youth center in a former linen factory and has grown into one of the largest pop venues in the Netherlands. After a renovation by architecture firm MVRDV, it reopened in 2005 with two halls (1,300 and 400 capacity).
