Festung Ehrenbreitstein is the second-largest preserved fortress in Europe, built 1817–1828, and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The Prussian fortress 118 meters above the Rhine now serves as a concert and event venue with spectacular views.
