Second Till, Please: OIRO Celebrate 25 Years of Mofapunk

Since 2001, OIRO have flown the flag for Düsseldorf punk – with German-language lyrics in the tradition of Die Goldenen Zitronen and Dackelblut and a sound that nods to the Wipers. In their 25th year, the self-declared Mofapunks now deliver "Zweite Kasse Bitte": eleven songs between hardcore punk and discount-store reality – from "Steine und Keulen" to "Herpes im Regal" to "Mittelfinger". The album was produced by Peta Devlin (Die Braut haut ins Auge) at Tumult Tonstudio and released via Major Label – the 12" vinyl fittingly comes with a poster and an original OIRO shopping-cart chip, and the limited neon-green cassette is almost gone.

Catch it all live on Friday, July 10 at their home show at AK47 on Kiefernstraße – Düsseldorf's last punk rock club, running since 1988. It doesn't get more underground than this.
