Phantoms of Future: 40 Years of Dark Rock and a Homecoming Show in Lünen

Founded in Dortmund in 1986, on the road with Iggy Pop in the nineties, officially retired in 2001 – and now back: Phantoms of Future turn 40 this year.

Phantoms of Future Singer Sir Hannes Smith – also frontman of Dortmund punk institution The Idiots – brought the cult band back to life after more than two decades. Comeback album "Forever Dark" (Massacre Records) landed in December 2025: 13 songs between dark wave, grunge, heavy metal and punk – organized chaos with attitude, the way this band has always operated.

👉 Order now: Vinyl at EMP

Catch it all live on Saturday (July 11) at Alternative Stage in Lünen: headline slot at 11 pm on Pfarrer-Bremer-Platz, free and open air – closing out two days of underground on the Brunnenfestival side stage.
