Vicious Rumors: Three German Shows Cancelled – Including Pitcher Düsseldorf
The US metal veterans' June club tour has largely collapsed in Germany: the shows at LOGO Hamburg (June 10), Bastard Club Osnabrück (June 18) and Pitcher Düsseldorf (June 19) are cancelled – Eventim officially lists all three dates as cancelled, and the venues have pulled them from their programs.
Vicious Rumors The cancellations come amid the ongoing controversy around drummer Larry Howe, whose racist and discriminatory social media posts caused widespread outrage. The band around guitarist Geoff Thorpe initially announced they would part ways with Howe before the European tour – only to reverse course after their US run and bring him back behind the kit. Freiburg's SkullCrusher Fest subsequently removed the power metallers from its billing, stating that discrimination has no place at their venues.
If you still want to catch the Californians („Digital Dictator", „Welcome to the Ball") live, two options remain within reach: June 11 at Goldgrube Kassel and Saturday, June 20 at Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium (12:40, Jupiler Stage) – just over two hours from the Ruhr area.
